Q. What is a spider vein?
A. A spider vein is when a tiny pinhole tear occurs in the capillaries beneath your skin. Stress or some type of trauma usually causes spider veins to occur. What you actually see is blood that has seeped out of that tiny tear or pinhole and it follows the line of the capillary or artery. As an example, imagine putting a drop of water on a pencil – the drop will follow the line of the pencil.

Q. Do you recommend Pro-K Vitamin K Cream and How does Pro-K work?
A. Vitamin K has been used for years as a blood clotter, actually since the early 1930’s. The Vitamin K enters through the pores all the way to the damaged capillary or artery and clots the blood, thus stopping the seepage of blood allowing the tissue time to heal itself. An easy example is if you cut yourself, the wound will not heal until it scabs over. The same thing happens with the damaged capillary or artery. It will not heal until the seepage has stopped.

Q. I have heard that spider veins can be healed with saline shots or surgery?
A. No, saline shots only clean the dried blood of the capillary without doing anything to heal and close the tear. Therefore, the problem has not been repaired and is only a short-term cosmetic solution. Most people who have this procedure complain that spider veins reappear in weeks.

Q. How long before I see results?
A. Some people have seen results in as little as 8-14 days. However, the average person takes 6 to 8 weeks. Time of results may vary due to severity of problem, skin types, thickness of skin and PH balance of skin.

Q. I have been using the Pro-K for 3 weeks and I don’t see any fading.
A. That’s ok. 70% of the people using Pro-K do not notice fading. They realize in about 6-8 weeks that their spider veins are gone.

Q. Will my spider veins come back?
A. No, they are healed. Now we can’t guarantee you won’t get new ones because we don’t know what caused the ones you had in the first place. That is why you should go on a maintenance program to prevent other spider veins from occurring.

Q. Can I use Pro-K Vitaman K Cream on my face?
A. Yes, Pro-K is completely safe and was developed originally for plastic surgeons to use on the face to keep bruising to a minimum. Pro-K can be used on any part of the body without any worry of side effects.

Q. Can I use my moisturizer and other beauty products while using Pro-K?
A. Sure, you should always use the Pro-K first, then allow 15 to 30 minutes for it to absorb before applying your moisturizer, make-up or any other product.

Q. I suffer from bad contact bruises – will Pro-K help?
A.Yes, Pro-K will heal this kind of bruise within 48-72 hours and it will prevent them from happening as often.

Q. I have rosecea, will Pro-K help my complexion?
A. Yes, rosecea is a problem with capillaries and arteries that are damaged and leaking. Pro-K heals damaged and leaking blood vessels, thus relieving the red ruddiness complexion

As every girl knows, the prom is an excuse to really go to town, and the more glam and glitz, the better! You’ve got the dress, the shoes, the makeup, the new jewelry… you’ve booked the limo, and that bubble of excitement is already starting to rise up inside your stomach… Now all you have to do is work out how to fix your hair! And a beautiful prom hairstyle is crucial for your overall appearance.
60’s influenced styles are back in fashion, but there are many other ways to make your prom hairstyle one to remember. Here’s the long and short of it!

Short hair:

Chics with short hair are lucky because their prom hairstyle will take half the time to do! Short hair is the best type if you want to have a really out of this world flicks at the nape of your neck – think funky pixie! All you need is some hair wax – apply a little and tease out the ends of your hair so that the style frames your face. Alternatively, short haired girlies can sweep their bangs to the side, and pin it with a pretty hair clip. This sophisticated look will work even better if you pick delicate hair accessories that coordinate with your dress and corsage.

Medium hair:

Those of you with medium length hair may think that there’s nothing interesting they can do with their hair. But stop and think; you’re actually the ideal length because you can make your hair look longer, or shorter, fairly easily. To make your hair look shorter, take small sections, and carefully twist them towards the back of your head. Pin the ends where you would normally have a ponytail, and tease the ends of the twists out away from your head to create cute flicks. To make you hair look longer, attach a quality fake ponytail, and fix your hair like the long haired girls…

Long hair:

You girls with long hair can chose from several prom hair styles. You could leave it down (flowing locks are always great). But if you want to pin it back, remember that it doesn’t just have to be a ponytail. Put your hair into a ponytail first of all – (your hair will be too heavy without that extra support, and the style is most likely to slip). Then take the ends of your hair and twist it or curl it, and pin it to the back of your head. You could even have lots of tiny plaits, intertwine them, and then pin them into a beautiful bun shape to form a kind of crown. Sensational!

Curly girlies:

Delicately curled tendrils work especially well if you have an off the shoulder dress. If your hair isn’t naturally curly, you can cheat! Use a heat protective spray, and carefully curl the ends of the hair into traditional ringlets. Not only will this new style frame your face but it will create quite an impact… curly girlies always look romantic!

Whatever you do, remember the golden rules. No matter which style you choose, make sure that your hair is shiny, bouncy, and healthy looking. Avoid the temptation of fixing your hair with half a bottle of hairspray. Hair which is weighed down with too much product always looks crusty and dull. Remember, sophistication and coordination is the key. But I’m sure, whatever you decide to do, you’ll all look like the prom queen!

Black & Ethic Styles

For updos, we suggest flat-ironing first, especially for excessively curly hair.

· For long hair, have your hair set in rollers, and then get an updo. The next day you can take out the ‘do and still enjoy the curls.

· If you have natural hair or an afro, you can get braids or twists done around the hairline to create a hair headband. Then you can add baby’s breath or other flowers for a soft Prom look.

· For dreadlocks, try pinning your hair up in the back and have some locks hanging down in the front. · If you are having a time-intensive treatment such as braids, be sure to have it done well before the Prom!

More Styles:
· Twists
· Knots
· Afro puffs
· Relaxed and sleek
· Palm rolls (twirls that are rolled together with the palms)

Hair brides:

You are a hair bride if you are thinking more about your hairstyle than your veil and headpiece. Many times the hair bride skips the veil all together! Schedule a trial run to discuss ideas for your hair. Once you know what hairstyle you want, the veil and headpiece can be purchased to complement your hairstyle, features, and wedding gown. Many hair brides are quite content to just place the veil behind an Updo and remove it at the reception.

Here are some tips for the hair brides:

Have a hair consultation or trial before getting your veil.
Have a second trial after you get it.
Don’t become too hair obsessed, relax!
Make sure some one in the party will help you remove your veil.

Veil brides:

You are a veil bride if you purchase the veil and headpiece without thinking about your hairstyle and all of your wedding day visions include you in a flowing veil. I know I have a veil bride when she tells me she wants to keep the veil on at the reception. Veil brides love seeing all that white! Details such as edging, pearls or rhinestones, multiple layers and the blusher complete the veil brides’ dreams.

Here are some tips for veil brides:

A full veil WILL keep falling forward as table visits call for leaning over.
With each hug (and hundreds will be given!) the veil will be yanked.
The veil WILL get in the way of dancing.
The netting WILL get caught on any beading.

Final tips:

Veil shop-around; don’t be talked into the veil that “goes” with the gown. Don’t forget the local craft shops, they have a variety of do-it-yourself pieces. Grandmas’ old brooch, a string of pearls, or fresh flowers can all become unique and inexpensive headpiece alternatives.

Time your practice session and make a list of all of the tools and products you will need.

Put everything in a basket and hide it away to bring out fresh and ready for your special day.

Schedule times for showers.

If you are not dressing at home make sure there is a mirror and a counter or table to work from.

Make sure there are proper outlets, if not bring a power bar and extension cord.

Put on all of your pretty under things and cover up with a button down shirt or robe. This way after hair and makeup are done just slip into your gown!

Is a stylist traveling to you?

Give exact, adequate directions and phone numbers. Many times brides give the directions they follow and forget the stylist may be coming from the opposite side of the highway.

Make sure you have a place set up for the stylist to work. It can be a large bath room, well lit dining room or kitchen. Put out hot pads or thick towels to protect surfaces from hot tools.

Don’t assume the stylist can do extra people last minute. Make sure everyone who is having their hair done is mentioned ahead of time and arrives promptly.

Be ready yourself and allow extra time for interruptions.

Are you going to a salon?

Schedule your wedding day hair appointment at least eight weeks ahead.

Have a practice session at least a month ahead and bring a picture of your dress and your headpiece with you to the salon.

Record your travel time from the salon to where you are getting dressed.

Add on extra time for getting dressed and make-up if the salon is not applying it.

Bring a Polaroid camera to your hair appointment and take pictures of the front, side, and back.

Ask for more than one stylist to help with the wedding party. Three stylists for a party of six is the best bet for staying on schedule.

Schedule all nail appointments for the day before, this also saves time.

Don’t expect to get your favorite stylist to do your wedding hair if you desire an intricate Updo. This is a specialty service and best left for the salon’s updo expert.

If you currently have short hair and would like longer hair on your wedding day. We recommend taking Hair Stimulator Vitamins 6- 8 months before your wedding day. Your hair could grow as much as 4 to 5 inches in that amount of time.

does not typically cause teenage hair loss, but there are cases of it.

Alopecia
The leading cause of teenage hair loss is a disease called Alopecia. Alopecia affects men and women of all ages and races. This
disease generally starts out as bald spots on the scalp but rare cases of Alopecia can cause hair loss all over the body. This rare
type of Alopecia is referred to as Alopecia Universalis. Alopecia is an auto immune disease that tells the body the hair is bacteria.
Alopecia kills the hair, but it does not kill the hair follicle. So, the hair can grow back completely even after years of hair loss. The
bad news is that it can all fall out again.

Other Causes of Teenage Hair Loss

• Trichotillomania or TTM is a behavioral disorder where the person pulls their hair out. This results in bald spots that can be
permanent. A person with this disorder can have bald spots on the head or face- such as the beard.
• Long term illness or surgery can cause teenage hair loss. The body is under a great amount of stress during these times
and can result in a teenager’s hair falling out.
• An excess of hormones can cause rapid hair loss. If you are pregnant or have had a baby within the past 3 months, your
body has been producing a much larger amount of hormones.
• High levels of emotional or physical stress can cause teenage hair loss. If your teenage is experiencing this type of stress,
you should really schedule an appointment with a therapist or someone for the teenager to talk too.
• Over styling or putting stress on the hair such as tight pony tails, excessive coloring/chemical applications, and/or heating
elements such as flat irons and dryers can cause so much damage to your hair that it breaks off or even falls out in patches.
• Nutrition is very important for a healthy head of hair. Having an eating disorder where your body is in serious need of
vitamins and nutrients can cause teenage hair loss. Once the nutrition or weight is under control the hair growth should continue
at a normal rate. Hair Stimulator Vitamins will give your teenage the proper nutrition for faster hair growth take 2 day everyday and your teenager should see results within 3 weeks. Hair Stimulator Vitamins are all natural however we recommend asking a Dr. before giving them to children ages 18 and under.

Chemotherapy or other medicines can also cause teenage hair loss, but this is temporary. Other medicines that commonly cause
hair loss are amphetamines, arthritis medicines, bipolar disorder medicines, birth control pills, blood thinners, migraine medicines,
seizure medicines, steroid medicines, and vitamin A in high doses.

Men’s Hairstyles are not as complicated as women’s hairstyles but there are still many ways to do your hair if you are a man. Styling aids have made a tremendous difference to the grooming of men’s hair. Hairstyle products are designed specifically for the male market and it has become acceptable for mousses and gels to be used as part of a daily routine.

Men’s Hair styles Tips

Men’s hair styles – do not be afraid to go to a salon rather than a barber shop, you might be very happy with the result

Ask a girl friend what she thinks, a girls opinion is good for a man’s hairstyle

Keep your hair healthy and soft, treat it well with the best shampoos and conditioners

You do not have to conform to certain men’s hair styles, go with a different look now and then

Value your hair, imagine yourself going bald

Do not wear caps or beanies to often, show off your nice hair as much as you can

Coloring hair is not just for women, men can do it as well to give them the best men’s hairstyles

Perms and Hair Coloring Style for Men’s Hair

There is still resistance to perms and color for men with research figures showing that an average of only 8 per cent of men risk a color change and only 4 per cent try a perm! However, milder perms which create root lift, body and volume without curls are coming on to the market. It is probably only a matter of time before men realize that this technique can give limp hair style added volume and thickness and make unruly, heavy hair more easily controlled.

Nutrition and Men’s Hair

Hair grows from the inside out. Hair Nutrition is a specialised blend of key nutrients to nourish, strengthen and feed the hair from the root. For beautifully thicker, stronger and healthier hair. We recommend Hair Stimulator Vitamins for a healthly hair , hair loss, balding and thinning hair.

Get some ideas
Start by collecting some pictures from magazines and off the internet. Be realistic – is your hair straight / thick / long enough for the style you like? Select several photos to show the stylist at your trial and ask her to try each of them out. Be open to new ideas and any advice she gives you.

Up or down?
Try to choose a style that will suit your face shape – round faces suit high “updo’s” and sleek long styles while long faces suit styles that have width and volume. Would you be comfortable with all your hair pulled away from your face? Consider having some hair up and some down, or leaving wispy bits around you face to soften. If you have a low-cut or off-the-shoulder dress will you feel comfortable with a little flesh exposed?

Curly or straight?
Once you have decided to wear you hair up or down, the possibilities are endless. Curls are soft and romantic, as are pleats, twists, plaits and variations to the bun. Or perhaps you prefer more contemporary spikes and twists. Try to reflect your personality in your bridal hairdo, but don’t be a fashion victim, or you’ll laugh at your photo’s in twenty years time! Is your shorter then you would like? I recommend taking Hair Vitamins 3 to 4 months before your Wedding Day you could grow your hair 3 inches or so in that time frame.

Tiara’s and veils
These should compliment your hairstyle but not hide it. If you have chosen a large floor-length veil, your hairstyle needs to be sturdy enough to hold it’s shape until you take the veil off. Some veils look better sat at the back of the head under a mass of curls or a bun. As a rule, the hair shouldn’t be worn longer than the veil.

Beads, jewels and flowers
These are always popular as they add extra sparkle and color and can tie in with your color scheme and jewelry. Pins and hair-grips with sparkling gems in the ends have a stunning effect, whilst small flowers can be scattered amongst curls or wired to a comb to flatter a French pleat.

Wedding hair checklist

1. Have a trial run with your stylist as soon as your wedding date is set. If possible, take along a photo of your dress, and any headpiece or hair accessories.

2. Find out if you need to grow your hair length, improve the condition with conditioning treatments, change the colour or have some highlights.

3. NEVER shampoo hair or conditioning treatments on the wedding day.

4. On the day of the wedding make sure the bridal party wear button or zip-up clothes. No crew neck jumpers! This will ensure you dont mess up your style…

5. Now just relax…..

Many people ask what proteins are most appropriate for hair growth. People with hair loss often turn to protein and amino acid supplements as part of their treatment regime. Although it is rare for a lack of protein to be a primary cause of hair loss, there is no harm in taking extra protein or amino acid supplements if you wish. If you take a blood test your serum total protein should be between 60–80 grams per liter. Less than this suggests a problem with protein intake. And you may take some of the protein supplements now available as either as powder protein supplements or liquid protein supplements.

Amino acids and proteins

Protein serves as the major structural component of all cells in the body, and functions as enzymes, in membranes, as transport carriers, and as some hormones. During digestion and absorption dietary proteins are broken down to amino acids, which serve as the building blocks for formation of structural proteins and functional compounds of protein such as enzymes and pre cursors of hormones etc. There are 20 amino acids in all which are required for the synthesis of proteins.

Essential amino acids

But out of which some of the amino acids cannot be synthesized by the body and are therefore are required to be taken as dietary amino acid supplements. The amino acids: Phenylalanine, Valine, Tryptophan, Threonine, Isoleucine, Methionine, Histidine, Arginine, Lysine and Leucine are considered to be essential amino acids. But the distinction between essential and non-essential amino acids is not very clear, as some amino acids can be produced from others. For example the sulfur containing amino acids, methionine and homocysteine, can be converted into each other, but neither can be synthesized de novo in humans. Likewise, cysteine can be synthesized from homocysteine, but not otherwise. So, for convenience, sulfur-containing amino acids are sometimes considered a single pool of nutritionally-equivalent amino acids.

Amino acids & protein for hair growth

Hair follicles require a constant supply of amino acids via the blood stream to maintain hair growth. Hair follicles contain some of the fastest growing and dividing cells in the body so their energy, vitamin, mineral, and amino acid consumption is high. If amino acids are lacking, particularly the essential amino acids listed below, the hair follicles may be less able to produce hair fiber.

Benefits of amino acids

A lack of amino acids in a first world country diet is very unusual and for the most part supplements are not required. However, everyone should ensure they have a healthy, balanced diet that provides all the amino acids required. There are many amino acids, but the nine amino acids which are known as essential amino acids must be provided in the diet and are indispensable amino acids which are required for both hair and other functions of the body. The body can make the other 11 amino acids needed to synthesize specific structures from the nine essential amino acids and carbohydrate precursors.

Protein supplements

Proteins from animal sources, such as meat, poultry, fish, eggs, milk, cheese, and yogurt, provide all nine indispensable amino acids in adequate amounts and for this reason are considered “complete proteins”. Proteins from plants, legumes, grains, nuts, seeds, and vegetables tend to be deficient in one or more of the indispensable amino acids and are called ‘incomplete proteins’. Vegetarian and vegan diets may contain enough protein, but people following these diets may not be receiving all the essential amino acids if they do not pay attention to the type of protein they eat. Vegan diets adequate in total protein content can be “complete” by combining sources of incomplete proteins which lack different indispensable amino acids.

Amino acid function for hair

In terms of hair fiber production, the most important amino acid is cysteine. Cysteine is the most common amino acid in hair. It is particularly important because it contains sulfur molecules. As part of a keratin protein chain, these sulfur molecules cross link with each other to produce disulfide bonds. These chemical bonds are what gives hair its strength. For this reason the most popular amino acid supplement taken for hair is cysteine.

Hair Stimulator Vitamins are loaded with Amino acids
